Building the Vietnamese Market for Japanese Industrial Products
Position Title:
Market Development & Consultative Sales Representative (Industrial Products)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Market Development & Consultative Sales Representative to strengthen and expand the market for industrial products that we handle as an authorized distributor.
This role goes beyond routine sales operations. You will be responsible for creating demand, building market presence, and establishing long-term trust with both manufacturers and customers.
Unlike typical sales positions, your primary counterparts will not be frontline staff, but business owners, factory managers, and decision-makers. This is a role for professionals who can engage at a strategic level, understand real operational challenges, and translate them into meaningful proposals.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct new visits to end users such as factories, workshops, and garages

Identify and develop sub-dealers and sales partners

Hold direct discussions with business owners, executives, factory managers, and other decision-makers

Understand on-site challenges through structured interviews and field observation

Propose application-based solutions, including basic demonstrations when necessary

Collect and organize market, customer, and competitor insights

Prepare and submit activity reports to the manufacturer on a monthly basis

Share field insights internally and contribute to sales and market strategies

Willingness to spend time in the field and engage directly with customers
This position is not evaluated solely on short-term sales results.
Actions that contribute to long-term market creation and brand positioning are also part of the evaluation.
Required Qualifications:

Business-level communication skills in either English or Japanese (verbal and written)

Proven experience in B2B sales or business development

Experience dealing directly with business owners or management-level decision-makers

Ability to plan and execute customer visits independently

Strong analytical and reporting skills to translate field activities into structured insights
Preferred Experience:

Sales experience in industrial, manufacturing, or automotive-related fields

Experience in distributor or channel development
-
Background in consultative or solution-based sales
Working Conditions:

Location: Ho Chi Minh City
-
Domestic travel: About once a month (approximately one week within Vietnam)

International travel: As required for business, trips to Japan or neighboring countries may be required
